Museum Overview
The Albright-Knox Art Gallery is a center of modern art in Buffalo,
New York State. Here you will see works of such masters as Gorky,
Pollock, Warhol, Johns. Impressionism and Post-Impressionism works
are well represented by leading French artists of the nineteenth century
- Gauguin and van Gogh. The Gallery has many works by Picasso, Braque,
Matisse, Derain, Miro, Mondrian, Rodchenko, and other artists.
The Albright-Knox building itself is a work of art. The original building
was designed by Edward B. Green, the distinguished Buffalo architect
who was also responsible for the design of the Toledo Museum of Art
and the Dayton Art Institute. Later, the Albright-Knox Art Gallere
was significantly enhanced with the addition of a new wing which was
designed by Gordon Bunshaft of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill of New
