Museum Overview
The history of the Buffalo Museum of Science began in 1836, when the
Young Mens Association was founded in the City of Buffalo. The
YMA was the center for organized cultural activities in Buffalo. Dealing
with the public library, science, literature and art, the YMA soon
became the owner of numerous specimens which were the first exhibits
for the Buffalo museum we have today.
Exhibits
The museum's collections cover items from anthropology to zoology,
and also include interactive exhibits. Also, the museum features some
special collections such as the Wilson A. Bentley (1865-1931) collection
which has photomicrographs of snow crystals, frost and dew.

Monday: Closed
Tuesday: Pre-booked schools & groups, only
Wednesday - Saturday: 10am - 5pm
Sunday: 12 - 5pm
